Jessie at workInterns serve full-time with agencies working for social change in LA.  They hold positions with specified duties and responsibilities and receive appropriate training and supervision.

EUIP partners with different agencies around LA to provide interns with high-level, meaningful engagement with problems and solutions of social injustice.   EUIP has partnered with agencies serving the homeless, the unemployed, abused children, at-risk youth, and persons living with HIV/AIDS.

The Children’s Clinic serves children and their families by partnering with parents and the community to provide quality health care services and health education and promotion to needy children and families.

Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged and homeless individuals become self-sufficient through employment opportunities. Since 1984, Chrysalis has helped over 30,000 individuals change their lives through jobs.

Common Ground in Santa Monica is the only comprehensive HIV agency serving the west side of Los Angeles.  Common Ground provides free HIV testing, needle exchange and other services.

Families Uniting Families was created by a concerned group of child welfare advocates and professionals in response to the growing need for quality foster families in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Families Uniting Families provides care and supervision to children 0-20 years of age, and includes a tutoring program & independent living/emancipation guidance, nutrition support, extra-curricular activity involvement, and a professional intern program.

Friends In Deed Food Pantry (Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Churches) provides basic services to improve the quality of life for low income and homeless people. Under the 501(c) 3 of the Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Churches, this church- and community-supported organization responds to the needs of low-income persons in the community.

Hillsides Education Center is a school for children with special needs that include emotional disturbance, a learning disability like attention deficit disorder, or other health impairments.  Hillsides Education Center was founded to serve the special education needs of children at Hillsides, a residential center that creates safe places for children by treating abuse, neglect and mental illness; strengthening families; providing special education; and advocating for children’s rights.

Jubilee Consortium’s mission is to create healthy and just neighborhoods through enrichment opportunities and leadership programs. In January 2001 the Jubilee Consortium was created by the rectors of a core group of inner city Episcopal parishes in the county of Los Angeles. Recognizing the disparities in the urban, low-income, predominantly minority communities they serve, the member churches of the Jubilee Consortium came together out of a common belief that churches should be able to provide much more for their communities than just a place to worship. Jubilee Consortium develops and implements innovative programming designed to make a real impact on the long-term future of its under-served communities.

Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools) mission is to develop and manage high quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low achieving schools. PUC Schools creates school programs and cultures that result in college graduation for all students.  PUC uplifts and revitalizes communities through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships.  EUIP has placements with Excel Charter Academy and Lakeview Charter Academy.

The Salvation Army Alegria provides health, housing, and child development services to homeless families with special needs, including residents with chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS. The goal is to not just help these families survive, but give them the resources to live dignified, hopeful lives, as well. Located in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, Alegria (Spanish for “joy”) is a village-style community made up of 16 licensed transitional living apartments and 28 townhomes for permanent/long-term housing.  Alegria provides essential healthcare, housing, and child development services in an environment where families can stay together without the stigma attached to the HIV/AIDS diagnosis.

St. Joseph Center is a multi-faceted social service agency located in the neighborhood of Venice Beach that serves very poor, as well as homeless, families and individuals.  A significant presence on Los Angeles’s Westside through its 10 programs and eight different locations, St. Joseph Center responds to the wide-ranging needs of homeless and low-income families and individuals in the community.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church‘s core values are to respond to the concrete needs of downtown Long Beach; engage larger social justice issues through action and advocacy; and prioritize leadership development for children and youth in the community.  These values are embodied in St. Luke’s many outreach services, including the Homeless Shower Program, Manna Meals, the Parish Pantry, Interfaith Community Organization, and a variety of healthy living and exercise classes targeting low-income and under-served adults and youth.
